What advertising on Melbourne's northern suburbs actually looks like
The north splits cleanly in two, and it is worth choosing which half you are buying. Below the Ring Road, Coburg, Preston, Brunswick and Reservoir are dense, old, and slow to drive: short trips, heavy parking, high foot traffic beside the car. Above it, Craigieburn, Mickleham, Epping and Mernda are new estates with long commutes and big weekly distances on fast arterials.
Those two profiles produce very different campaigns from the same sticker. Inner-north cars accumulate fewer kilometres but spend far more of their time stationary and visible at kerbside in busy shopping strips, Sydney Road being the extreme case. Growth-corridor cars rack up distance on the Hume and Epping Road and reach a much wider spread of suburbs in a week.
If your customers are within a suburb or two of your door, ask for the inner-north. If you are a regional service business that needs to be seen across the whole north, the growth corridor covers far more ground for the same weekly rate.
